Inspection of the Conditions of the Church "Holy Friday" in Trniche, Skopje

A professional team from NI Conservation Centre Skopje made an inspection of the conditions of the church "Saint Petka" in Crniche, Skopje. The church, which dates from the beginning of the 20th century, was largely damaged in the catastrophic earthquake of 1963. The interior decorating, i.e. the wall painting and icon painting, was the work of the famous Macedonian icon painter Dimitar Andonov Papradishki, completed in 1924. The entire wall painting was executed in tempera colors. Due to the damage the church suffered in the earthquake of 1963, the fresco paintings were completely damaged and forever lost, only to be later repainted in 1965 by the icon painter Teodosie Kolovski from Lazaropole.
