Visit of Students from the Faculty of Architecture from Skopje

Students from the Faculty of Architecture together with Prof. Dr. Elizabeta Kasapova visited the AQUEDUCT, where by the Project Leader Mirka Iloska, advisor conservator, they were acquainted with the history and current conservation interventions on the Aqueduct, the causes that led to the degree of degradation and the activities undertaken so far, the method and phases sequentially applied during the execution of conservation works as well as activities that will follow in the upcoming period by NI Conservation Centre Skopje with the sole purpose of preserving and bringing the Aqueduct to a level enabling visitors to this cultural heritage of the highest degree of protection, presentation through tourist tours that will be included in the map of the city of Skopje. The process may be time-consuming in the conservation and restoration part but in the further period, horticultural landscaping of the area enriched with additional facilities for rest, recreation and educational presentation will follow, which will yield yet another cultural monument, a representative of the Republic of North Macedonia and the City of Skopje.
