Inspection of the Condition of the Church "St. Salvation", Village of Kuchevishte, Skopje Region

The slopes of Skopska Crna Gora abound with sacral buildings and grave churches from the 14th century which in their construction contain Byzantine elements that were the building trend of the time in the region. The church St. Salvation was built in the first half of the 14th century in the form of an inscribed cross which in the central part contains a dome supported on 4 pillars, while the rest is covered with vaults. On the western part, the narthex was later built, which is specific due to its two-story nature that transforms into a chapel - "St. Nicholas" which during Turkish rule served for secret liturgies. Hidden internal stairs led to the upper floor which no longer exist, and instead external stairs and a porch of wooden construction covered with tiles were built. One of the reasons for the conducted inspection is the degradation of the wooden construction of the porch which requires reconstruction and rehabilitation that will be included in the report from the conducted inspection and guidelines for action.
