Memorial Cultural Heritage "Old Turkish Post" Skopje

A professional team from NI Conservation Centre - Skopje made an inspection of the condition of the cultural monument "Old Turkish Post Office" built towards the end of the 19th century, as evidenced by the inscription on the stone plaque placed above the entrance door. This cultural monument is located between the Vilayet Lodge "Ukyumat" and the Mustafa Pasha Mosque opposite the Skopje Fortress. During its construction, it was the first Turkish telegraph office. Originally the building had a rectangular base and consisted of a ground floor and an upper floor, to which later another floor was added. As a consequence of the earthquake of 1963, the building was damaged and during its reconstruction the added floor was removed.
